Building Permit Requirements

Contractor Requirements

The City of Windcrest requires all contractors to register their company with us. When registering your company please submitt the following information to our offices 

 Contractor Registration Application (click here to download a copy)
 $20.00 Registration Fee (renewed annually)
 Copy of General Liability Insurance
 Copy of License: i.e. Master Plumber, Master Electrician, Master Mechanical;
 any other State License and if applicable City of San Antonio License.

Building Permit Requirements

Building Permits are required for the following: additions, accessory buildings, new construction for residential and commercial, driveway/sidewalk, masonry mailboxes, foundation repairs, fences, irrigation systems, garages, pools/spas  signs and utility work.

 
A minimum of two (2) complete sets of plans, copy of a survey/plat of the property, and a copy of the signed contract for residential and commericial jobs are required when submitting. PERMITS ARE NOT ACCEPTED BY FAX.

Permit Applications are accepted Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

If you are remodeling or demolishing a commericial space it's required to provide a copy of an asbestos survey along with a set of plans of work to be done. Effective January 1, 2002 Senate Bill 509 requires an asbestos survey for renovation and demolition of public buildings and/or commerical buildings.
