Public Relations/Marking Analyst
The City of Windcrest is accepting applications for a Public Relations/Marketing Analyst. The Public Relations/Marketing Analyst works for the City of Windcrest and the Windcrest Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) and is responsible for implementing the business retention program including developing, analyzing and implementing research initiatives, providing custom research for business expansion/recruitment. The Analyst will also be responsible for creating economic development plans which includes developing events related to those plans. The Analyst will also be responsible for administrative duties related to the WEDC. The Analyst will be responsible for providing updates on the WEDC’s social media, special events, event planning, calendar schedules and various collateral duties with the City.

Under supervision of the Communications Manager the Communications Officer operates a variety of specialized equipment and coordinates all emergency and non-emergency calls and walk in traffic coming into the police department for Police,Fire,EMS and other city services in a professional and courteous manner, determining nature and urgency of calls. Position requires constant contact with the public in stressful situations that require clear thinking, calmness, stability, tact, good judgment, and clearly understandable speaking skills. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: A High School diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of experience in a public safety dispatching environment is preferred. Experience in various aspects of law enforcement, fire or EMS can partially replace years of experience as can experience in a position that requires a high level of multitasking in a related field. Typing speed of 35 wpm. General knowledge of office procedures such as filing, bookkeeping, and records maintenance preferred. Skill in the operation of two-way radios, communications, 911, and computer aided dispatch equipment
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, and REGISTRATIONS: TCOLE Basic Telecommunicator License preferred. TCIC/NCIC Full Access Certification preferred. TLETS Certification preferred. Must possess or obtain all of the above certifications within the first six months of employment.
CONTINUING EDUCATION: Attendance of programs provided by the Texas Municipal Court Education Center (TMCEC) for continuing education.
