John Paul Frisco John Paul Frisco
Lieutenant 4120
Served the Windcrest Community from
07/10/1974 to 12/13/1985
History:

Lt. Frisco was working a security job at the Jus' Country night club on Friday, December 13, 1985. Lt. Frisco was notified of possible vehicle burglars breaking into cars in the parking lot of the location. Lt. Frisco attempted to contact the suspect when the suspect entered his vehicle to elude him. Lt. Frisco grabbed onto the bed of the suspect's truck and held on as the suspect sped away. The suspect sped onto Walzem Road swerving and knocking Lt. Frisco off of the truck bed. Another vehicle traveling down Walzem Road was unable to stop and ran over Lt. Frisco, killing him. The suspect left the scene. An intensive investigation ensued with no arrests.

It wasn't until 2001 that the suspect was identified and the suspect's vehicle was located. On April 7, 2001 the suspect was apprehended, charged, tried, and finally convicted on April 28, 2003 of Capital Murder and is now serving out his 25 years of confinement in prison.

Lt. Frisco left behind four children.

The Windcrest Optimist Club established the John Paul Frisco Law Enforcement Award on May 6, 1986 in honor and in memory of Lt. Frisco. The award is given to those who have contributed to the law enforcement profession, community and endeavors.

The hallway leading to the Windcrest Police Department has a Law Enforcement Memorial wall dedicated to Officer Marshall and Lieutenant Frisco along with the officers of the Alamo Area who have died in the line of duty.
